The Pygmy Possum lodge offers a pleasant self-help style accommodation in the picturesque surrounds of Charlotte Pass. The lodge is open all year round for skiing, snowboarding, nordic skiing, bushwalking, trout fishing, and a host of other activities.

Facilities

Pygmy Possum lodge can cater for up to 54 guests and is a non smoking self help lodge. This means that you get to enjoy a great holiday in relaxed surroundings and save by doing your own cooking and a sharing tasks around the lodge. All bedrooms have modern ensuites and offer 2, 3 or 4 people accommodation. Each room is supplied with pillows and doonas but you must supply your own linen and towels. The lodge has 2 large well equipped kitchens, 2 large drying rooms, and a large lounge area to mix with the other guests. Follow the Facilities link for a more detailed list of the lodge facilities.

Food at Pygmy Possum

No catering is provided - you will need to provide all your own meals while at the lodge so bring a supply of food. Some condiments only are provided as part of the booking fee, and some other non perishable food is available for purchase from the food store. See the Food at Pygmy Possum link for details. The shopping facilities within the village are almost non existent.

Charlotte Pass Village Parking, Summer

Park in the carpark opposite the Chalet after unloading your car at the front steps of the lodge. Do not leave your car parked at the front of the lodge, as there is insufficient space.

Getting to Charlotte Pass Village

In late spring, summer and autumn it is possible to drive all the way to Charlotte Pass Village and park there. From the beginning of the June long weekend to the close of the October long weekend the access road beyond Perisher is closed due to real or potential snow cover and there is no overnight parking at Perisher. Operations Guide

Lodge Keys are sent to Lodge Captains a week or so before their booking starts. Lodge captains are advised by email a) that they ARE to be the captain of their wing for the week, and b) they need to print off and take to the lodge with them a number of documents as below: Copies of the Visitors Registers forms are available at the lodge in the folder under the notice board of each wing. These are to be filled in by all guests. Please let know if the visitors register forms are running low, or if any of the laminated forms are missing.

Mobile Coverage
At Charlotte Pass Village you will be very fortunate if you can get mobile phone coverage. Perhaps from the Pass itself....

Public Telephone
The coin operated phone in the lodge is available for outgoing and incoming calls. Please limit all calls to ten minutes to give people trying to ring in a chance to get through. (It is possible to use phone cards with this phone.)

Internet Coverage
Wireless Broadband is available at the Lodge and can be accessed by using your own computer or device. You can either go to Stilwell Lodge and purchase pre paid hours or pay for the service you want on line when you first log in.

  1. Set your network connection to wireless and select the wireless network "pyp01" or "pyp1"
  2. Open your internet browser and you will be automatically transferred to the Airlan site
  3. Enter your pre paid hours login (that you purchased from Stilwell) or choose a package on line
